We are looking for volunteers to take part in a study exploring the effects of gender and personality on the use of coping strategies in elite American Football competition.

This research forms part of an MSc Psychological Sciences degree at Brunel University and involves answering two questionnaires regarding your personality trait and coping strategies you use. Participants will also be asked demographic questions regarding gender and age.

The study has been approved by the College of Health, Medicine, and Life Science Research Ethics Committee with the study being carried out between 21st February 2023 and 27th April 2023.

Participation in this research is entirely voluntary, anonymous, and confidential, and those contributing  can withdraw at any time before submitting the questionnaires. All participants must:

  • Be 18 years old or over.
  • Have competed for Great Britain American Football in tackle/contact or flag.
  • Have participated in an international American Football game/tournament in the last 4 years, not including friendlies.
