Latest message from Pete Ackerley

I’m pleased to share a further update focusing on Return to Play in Scotland.

I can confirm sportscotland have now signed off our updated guidance for Protection Level 3 in Scotland.

This means contact teams for under 18s can now start Stage 5 modified contact practice with immediate effect. Our Stage 4 non-contact guidance for flag teams has also been updated.

Over 18s in all formats of football must still remain 2m distanced during practice activity, but overall group sizes can now increase from 15 to 30 for adults, and travel restrictions are now removed.

We have also updated our Protection levels activity checker for Scotland.

We anticipate our next updated guidance for Scotland will be issued during w/c 17 May, should Scotland move to Protection Level 2 as planned.  This would mean ‘field of play bubbles’ returning for over 18s, allowing adult flag teams to return to more meaningful practice activity, and adult contact teams to start Stage 5 modified contact.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact Covid-19@britishamericanfootball.org

Pete
