As we gear up for the first games of the 2024 season this weekend, we caught up with the top two Adult Premiership teams from 2023 to get their insights on the upcoming season. Here’s what they had to say:
How do you plan to leverage the successes of last season to propel your team forward and keep momentum in 2024?
Jonathan Homer, Head Coach – Manchester Titans
“One of our cultural blocks is ‘standing still is going backwards,’ so we are always striving to take the team to the next step. We’re pushing into European Competition via the CEFL to showcase British Football to a wider audience. The demands on our players, coaching levels, and the depth of our scheme have all risen.”
Tony Allen, Head Coach – London Warriors
“We’re focusing on analysing what worked well and where we fell short. The sting of defeat motivates us to work even harder this season.”
What distinguishing factors do you believe will elevate your squad above the competition in 2024?
Jonathan Homer, Head Coach – Manchester Titans
“We excel in recruitment, player progression from U19, player development, coaching, scouting, and execution on the field. We will continue to ride these strengths through the season.”
Tony Allen, Head Coach – London Warriors
“Our commitment to a culture of excellence and accountability will set us apart. We prioritise discipline, hard work, and teamwork.”
With the buzz of a new league season, what excites you the most as you gear up for another chapter with your team?
Jonathan Homer, Head Coach – Manchester Titans
“The chance to elevate our product and our team to a new level and drive the sport towards the next level of professionalism.”
Tony Allen, Head Coach – London Warriors
“The opportunity to witness the growth and evolution of our team and British American Football. I’m eager to see our players embrace challenges and showcase their talent on the field.”
