Across the month of July BAFA celebrates Disability Pride Month – an opportunity to raise awareness and highlight the voices of those for whom disability as an integral part of their identity. Disability Pride emerged in response to negative views of disability and to promote human rights.

Five colours are used to symbolise the month – reflecting the variety of needs and experiences: Mental Illness (blue), Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (yellow), Sensory Disabilities (white),Physical Disabilities (red), and Invisible and Undiagnosed Disabilities (green). BAFA is proud to support and promote activities it is involved in during the month.
