The role

U19 Regional Football will be launching in September 2024 and as such we are looking for two enthusiastic Head Coaches based in the North and South to help build and establish these Regional Franchises. Responsible to:  U19 & U16 Development Managemer/ National Programme Lead Length of term: One year competition cycle - which will be followed by a review. Position type: Voluntary. Commitment: Up to 10 hours per week. This may vary depending on the point in the competition cycle and during planned events.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

This role description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive. It is intended as an outline indication of the areas of activity and will be amended in the light of the changing needs of U19 Regional Football.
  • Recruitment and coordination of Regional Franchise coaching staff.
  • Ensuring coaching staff is a fair reflection of all participating clubs.
  • Execution of Regional franchise practices/ camps.
  • Attendance at Regional Franchise Fixtures/ practices.
  • Liaising with National Programme coaches and referring National Team prospects.
  • Providing feedback to staff and player participations to ensure year on year improvements.

Requirements

The Men’s Silver Lions Manager will be required to:
  • Level 2 BAFCA qualified or be working towards the same.
  • Previous Head Coaching or Coordinator experience desirable.
  • Previous experience of coaching within U16 or U19 Football.
  • Have the ability to inspire, enthuse and motivate others.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage individuals, groups and organisational interactions, especially in high-stress situations.
  • Have excellent organisational and management skills.
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills (in both verbal/non-verbal and written formats).
  • Demonstrate good IT and administration skills, typically using Google Docs for organising, presenting, and gathering team information.
  • Show experience in a sports management role (U16 / U19 team association preferable).
  • Have a willingness to volunteer irregular hours, and travel both within the UK.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and be willing to establish strong relationships with the National Program and Competition Management.
A satisfactory BAFA DBS check will be required before the post-holder commences the position.

U19 11v11 Regional Football will be launching in September 2024 and we are looking for two enthusiastic General Managers - one for each of North and South - to help build and establish these Regional Franchises.   • Support and management of regional franchise development for U19 11v11.
  • Organising Practice & Gameday logistics
  • Ensuring sound financial management takes place through the use of open, robust management processes
  • Ensuring coaches, players and staff of the team are aware of and adhere to the National Programme’s risk assessments and welfare policies
  • Monitoring, evaluating and suggesting improvements for the team
  • Maintaining and demanding the highest personal standards from staff, ensuring that the Regional Franchise Code of Conducts are adhered to
  • Liaising with all the other parts of the BAFA National Programme & Competition Management, where necessary
  • Ensuring clear lines of communication are established with all participating clubs & their players
  • Ensuring clear and accurate information is provided to parents/guardians for participating members of Regional Franchises
  • Maintaining excellent communication with, and reporting progress on a regular basis to U19 & U16 Competition Management
  • Being well-briefed about any special needs of players and coaches and ensuring the reasonable adjustments are made for medical conditions, accessibility needs, etc.
  • Protecting confidential information and adhering to BAFA policies
  • Abiding by and promoting sound ethics and BAFA policy regarding equality, safeguarding, and health and safety to all persons involved with the team.
  • Ensuring a positive team environment
