Further to my
previous update on 5 August,
I’m pleased to confirm that BAFA’s Return to Play submission is now with the UK
Government’s department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) for their approval.
return to play guidance specifically relating to children’s organised outdoor
contact sports for under 18s in Scotland has also been drafted and submitted to
SportScotland for approval.
While this does
not mean any immediate change to BAFA’s current activity guidance, I believe
it’s important we keep you as updated on our progress as we can.
and submission of this documentation has required considerable work relating to
transmission risk analysis for our different disciplines and age groups, and
the proposal of appropriate mitigations and adaptations to how we do things. I
would like to thank everyone involved for their time and input – including Kyle
Taylor, Wayne Hill, Kenny Bello and Clive Dobbin.
this document will be used as the basis of the guidance we’ll create and share
to support clubs as we take the next steps on our return to play journey.
Please keep an
eye on the BAFA website and our social media channels for future updates as we
have more news to share.
