BAFA Women's Flag squad announced

12 players and three reserves will compete in this year's European Flag Championships

After an extensive, season-long scouting, assessment and selection process, the British American Football Association is proud to announce the squad of 12, plus the three travelling reserves, who will compete in the European Flag Football Championships later this year.

The squad is as follows (club teams are last Opal Series registrations):

  • Ellie Thorpe - Warwick Wolverines
  • Jennifer Cooper - Warwick Wolverines
  • Jodie Harris - Warwick Wolverines
  • Kate Bruinvels - Chichester Golden Arrows
  • Kellie Barrett - Coventry Cougars
  • Lottie Laidler - Sheffield Hallam Warriors
  • Lou Lee - Warwick Wolverines
  • Lucie Stewart - London Warriors
  • Millie Barrett - Coventry Cougars
  • Phoebe Schechter - Staffordshire Surge
  • Steph Warren - Nottingham University

  • Sophie Jones - Coventry Cougars

Head Coach Andrew Gambrill said: “I’m genuinely excited at the potential of this squad and have every faith that we will produce a performance the whole country will be proud of.”

Martin Cockerill, BAFA Chairman, is pleased by the quality of the squad: "The growth of the women`s game is further enhanced by the skill and dedication shown by the successful candidates selected to represent Great Britain at this year's European Championships. British women`s football is going from strength to strength!"

The team will have its first practice on 6th May in Northampton.
