The British American Football Association (BAFA) has welcomed two new additions to its Flag Football Performance Programme, with Jon Wyse appointed Performance Services Manager & DiSE Lead, and Dave Winter appointed Head of Youth Flag.
A veteran of the British American Football scene and former Britbowl MVP, Jon Wyse will oversee performance services support across our men’s and women’s Flag programme, as well as leading on camp planning and logistics at Loughborough College.
Wyse will also act as Team Liaison for the Women’s team, working closely with head coach Jack Reed on aspects of planning and preparation, while delivering a number of key projects including DiSE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence) and participation programmes.
Dave Winter, having been involved in British American football since 1991 as a player and a coach, steps into the role of Head of Youth Flag, overseeing the youth flag teams in BAFA’s Performance Programme.
A former Great Britain Lion at youth, university and adult level, Winter will lead a group of newly appointed coaches across the U17, U15 and U13 age groups with the European Youth Championships on the horizon in 2026.
“These are two really important and exciting appointments for our Performance Programme,” commented Jason Scott, BAFA’s Head of Performance Coaching and Pathway.
“Jon brings a huge amount of experience to a crucial role supporting our Women’s and Men’s teams, and highlights the strength of collaboration in our partnership with Loughborough College.
“Our youth programme has a huge amount of potential and I look forward to Dave building on that positive culture and delivering the very best for our up and coming athletes.”
