BAFA are excited to confirm the head coaches of Great Britain’s adult national programme teams moving forward. Jack Reed and Nick Keyse are appointed permanent head coaches of Great Britain Women’s and Men’s Flag Football teams while Laura Moore and Kevin Keohane are appointed to lead Great Britain’s Women’s and Men’s contact teams.

“We are thrilled to appoint Jack and Nick as our permanent adult flag football head coaches,” said BAFA CEO Chad Ehlertsen.

“In a year where how we operate off the field has been as important, if not more important than how we operate on it, both head coaches have demonstrated the ambition and collaboration to set the programme up for long term success.”

Great Britain Women’s Flag produced another historic year for the programme in 2025, finishing fifth at the World Games in China before defending their European Championship title at EuroFlag 2025, improving their world ranking to third by the end of the year. Great Britain Men delivered their best European finish since 2017 and joined the women in qualifying for 2026’s World Championships in Düsseldorf.

“The outstanding performances we’ve seen this year have been in no small part down to Jack and Nick’s values-led approach in their coaching; and now the players, coaches and wider community are reaping the benefits,” said Ehlertsen.

Great Britain National Programme Head Coaches:

  • Great Britain Women’s Flag – Jack Reed
  • Great Britain Men’s Flag – Nick Keyse
  • Great Britain Women’s Performance – Laura Moore
  • Great Britain Men’s Performance – Kevin Keohane
  • Great Britain Men’s Development – TBA
  • Great Britain Academy – TBA

“We are incredibly excited to appoint Kevin and Laura as our contact head coaches,” Ehlertsen added.

“For Laura to become the programme’s first female head coach is a hugely significant moment, not just in the culture and character that she will bring to the team, but to demonstrate the opportunities being taken by female coaches across the sport. We can always do more, and having Laura leading Great Britain Women will open the door for even broader progress across the community.”

Great Britain Women’s Performance have two games remaining in the 2025/26 IFAF European Championships, hosting Germany in May 2026 before a potential medal game in August. After a year without international competition, Great Britain Men’s Performance will return to action in 2026, with their fixtures to be confirmed in December.

“Kevin takes the reins of a reinvigorated Men’s Performance staff and we can’t wait to see the culture that he shapes within the programme. As a former Great Britain Lion, national champion and BAFA Hall of Fame inductee, there are few better placed than Kevin to uphold what is expected from the best of British American football.

“I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the coaches who are leaving our national programme. Since his appointment in 2021, GB Women’s head coach Chris Stone has been an exemplary leader while earning unforgettable World and European silver medals with the team, we wish Chris all the best for the future.

“I would also like to congratulate Jason Scott on his coaching career with Great Britain, and the huge impact he has had on the development of British American football. Wins at home and away in European competition and massive strides taken off the field have put both BAFA and the Great Britain programme in a position of great potential looking ahead.”

Jason Scott will take on a new role as Head of Performance Coaching and Pathway within the national programme. This role will provide oversight across Great Britain’s Contact and Youth Flag teams, while supporting Great Britain Men’s and Women’s Flag with coach development and player recruitment.

“It’s a huge honour for me to announce Laura and Kevin as our contact head coaches,” commented Scott.

“Both Laura and Kevin have represented their country with huge distinction as players, and now they get the opportunity to do so as head coach. Both bring a wealth of experience, passion and enthusiasm to the role, and I know they’ll take the national programme to the next level as part of our new embedded, integrated performance programme.”

Head coaches of the Men’s Development and Academy teams will be announced next week, with more information about Great Britain trials and fixtures in 2026 to follow.

Note: Following clarification from IFAF, we have amended our national programme team naming to Men’s and Women’s, in line with current IFAF competitions.
