The Lions enjoyed an unbeaten day one of the tournament, before rounding off the group stage and powering through the quarterfinals on Friday.

Great Britain Men began their Friday with a 45-13 win over Georgia as the sun rose over Paris. A tough challenge awaited to finish their group games, going toe-to-toe with the current second-ranked team in the world, Austria and falling just short 31-34.

Progressing into the knock-outs, Great Britain were matched with Denmark, another frequent feature in the world’s top ten ranked teams.

After a nail-biting back and forth battle, Great Britain sealed the 32-19 win with a walk-off interception returned for a touchdown by defensive back David Mcinally.

Great Britain Women had just one group game remaining on Friday morning, confidently defeating Czechia 32-0 to take them into the knock-outs top of Group B.

Tasked with Slovenia in the quarter-finals, the Lions left an impression in the Paris suburbs with a 51-14 win, powered by the Jessica Allen-Emily Kemp connection on offense and impact play from Grace Conway on defense.
