The British American Football Association is updating its membership model from the 2025 season designed to give members greater value, fairness, and simplicity.
As shared with members at the AGM in July, reasonable and measured increases would take place across fees. For the coming season, to balance affordability with long-term investment in the sport, BAFA is also making a modest average fee adjustment of around £5 for members, while freezing team fees in key formats. There will be a reintroduction of team fees for WFFL and NFFL to support the running of the competitions.
These changes ensure BAFA can balance affordability today with long-term sustainability, while continuing to invest in services that support our members and the growth of the sport.

Key Information
- Memberships for the 2025–2026 period open from 1 October 2025 on JustGo for contact and youth flag formats.
- NFFL memberships are in the process of being set up on JustGo — flag clubs will be contacted by competition management as soon as these are available.
- WFFL memberships follow a different cycle and are already open.
- Playwaze is being phased out for flag formats this year. Going forward, JustGo will be our only membership platform for National Leagues and GB.
Moving to a single platform for all National League formats will make life simpler for clubs and members — one place for memberships, competition entries, and records. It also unlocks access to BAFA’s new Endurance Zone rewards scheme, giving members exclusive discounts from leading sports brands like Nike, Oakley, Under Armour, and Asics, as well as everyday savings at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Deliveroo, and more. With these offers, many members will be able to save back the cost of their BAFA membership — and more — at a time when household budgets are under pressure.
FAQs
Why are fees increasing?
Rising costs mean we must ensure the financial sustainability of the sport. A modest increase helps us cover essential services while keeping fees affordable.
Why change the model again?
We’re harmonising the membership model to make fees clearer and more consistent across all our formats.
Why not use Sport England/UK Sport funding to offset fees?
This funding is ring-fenced for performance and development projects to ensure the long-term growth of the sport, and can’t be used to subsidise membership costs.
Why are women’s fees reducing?
We’ve listened to members and aligned fees with the length of the fixture calendar. This change improves fairness across formats and supports the development of women’s football.
I already have a membership for 2025 that says it doesn’t expire until 31 October — do I need to wait until it expires?
No. We’re opening renewals early so you can keep your membership and insurance cover without interruption, and so active teams have time to make sure coaching and player memberships are renewed well before training and games restart — meaning no one is training or playing uninsured.
What’s included in membership?
Membership provides competition entry, insurance, roster access, coaching records, plus access to our rewards scheme to access savings and a range of digital services.
What insurance cover do I get as a BAFA member, and where can I find out more?
Your BAFA membership includes robust insurance arranged through our partners at Marsh Sport. Please follow the link here for more information.
What if I’ve set up automatic renewal (auto subscribe) on JustGo?
If you selected the autosubscribe option when you first set up your membership, your renewal payment will be taken automatically and new memberships added to your profile. Please check your JustGo settings if you want to unsubscribe from automatic renewal before fees are taken on 1 October.
