The Great Britain Youth Flag Football programme has announced new Development Days for flag athletes aged 11-13 this summer.
Designed to lay the foundation for long-term success, the Development Days mark the National Programme’s newest outreach to the nation’s young flag football talent.
📍 Location: Loughborough College, Radmoor Rd, Loughborough LE11 3BT
📅 Date: 7 June, 5 July, 2 August
⏰ Time: Registration from 10:00
Open to athletes aged 11–13 (turning 13 this year), this is a unique opportunity to:
✅ Develop core flag football skills
✅ Build performance habits early
✅ Be seen by GB coaches and staff
✅ Kickstart your journey in the national pathway
Players are asked to arrive dressed ready to play, with flag belt, mouth guard, food for the day and water.
This initiative is led by Neil Wymer, bringing his wealth of experience from the Great Britain women’s programme and Leicester Huntsmen, in addition to support from Philip Cartwright (Thanet Mustangs), and a brilliant team of GB coaches and support staff who will be on hand throughout the day.
“We’re committed to supporting the full journey of our athletes,” said GB Youth Team Manager & Flag Football Project Officer Danika Taylor.
“One of the strategic shifts we’ve made is to invest earlier, recognising that the raw skill, energy, and passion we see at this age can be moulded into the future Olympians we aim to develop.”
