Members of the Great Britain Men’s Flag Football programme made their way to Denmark last week to compete at Copenhagen Bowl with the Golden Lions and Great Barbarians.
With 18 men’s teams competing in the tournament’s Elite bracket, the Great Barbarians and Golden Lions finished 5th and 8th respectively.
Keeping a watchful eye over the action was Great Britain Lions Men’s head coach Nick Keyse, who highlighted the importance of his players getting exposure to international play.
“Copenhagen for us as coaches and for the players was most importantly a learning experience,” Keyse said.
“The Elite competition brought talent together from across Europe, so it was vital that we had a focus on process and understanding how and where our squad needs to develop.
“What stood out all weekend was the commitment and chemistry that we have as a team. That really shone through and is going to be critical as we put together the best group we can moving forward this year.”
