The Youth Flag Football League (YFFL) will be run and managed this year by the Flag Football Competition Management Group (CMG) led by Alan Young, Neil Henderson and Paul Labbett, who are also managing the adult flag football leagues.
The following information has already been communicated with team contacts where their information is held, and is shared here to update the wider community and act as a prompt. If your team hasn’t had contact and you’re interested in playing in the YFFL for 2025, or you have any other queries then please contact youthflagfootball@britishamericanfootball.org which is now being managed by the CMG.
Following widespread consultation amongst youth flag clubs there has been almost entirely unanimous support to return to a regional league competition format for 2025. Leagues will run at u11, u14 and u17 age groups with exact team/geographical makeup confirmed once we know which and how many teams have entered each age group.
While the schedule will be centrally coordinated each team will be expected to host and manage a gameday during the season (as is done in adult flag football) where several teams will attend and play multiple games each. Overall competition rules are being reviewed and the fully amended document will be issued to teams upon their completion.

Registration Details and Deadlines Youth flag football team and individual registrations have returned to the JustGo platform (https://bafa.justgo.com/) This is the platform used for contact football and for flag previously.
Team registration must be completed on the JustGo platform (in the Club Profile-Club Affiliation section) by Friday 20th December 2024. Team entry is £50 per team for the year (i.e. if you want to enter one u11 team, one u14 team and one u17 team it will be £150 in total). To ensure the CMG can accurately track actual team registrations against expected registrations, and so that we have up to date contact details for each club to be used for communications, can each club please email the Youth Flag inbox at youthflagfootball@britishamericanfootball.org to confirm contact details and to indicate which age groups they intend to register for. To date we only have an informal prior indication and don’t want anyone to miss out if they don’t register in time.
Individual player registration is £7.50. Each registered team must have a minimum number of 8 players registered by Friday 31 January 2025 to be included in the schedule for the season.

How to register your Youth Flag Team
In order to enter the 2025 YFFL you will need to purchase a BAFA team affiliation for each of your youth teams on the JustGo membership system. This costs £50 per team. You will need a JustGo membership profile linked to your club to do this, and you – or another person in your club – will also need to hold the status of club administrator.
If you are an existing club on JustGo
If your club is already on JustGo, either because your youth flag teams are part of a wider organisation with existing contact teams, or because your teams were on JustGo pre-2023 prior to PlayWaze, then you may already have a JustGo profile and be linked to your club. You may already be a club administrator or have other active club administrators in your organisation. If so either you or an existing club administrator in your organisation can login and purchase a team affiliation.
If your club has never been on the JustGo system before, you will need to create a user profile and link it to your club if you don’t already have one on there. You will then need to email registrations@britishamericanfootball.org and ask to be granted club admin status.
Login to JustGo. If you hold club administrator status, when you click on the menu you will be able to see a set of tiles under the heading ‘My Club’ – including ‘club profile’. Alternatively, you can email registrations@britishamericanfootball.org and ask the team to check for you.

Yes – players can now register against your team. The categories of U11, U14 and U17 are now live on our JustGo membership system and cost £7.50 each. All members under 16 should be registered by a parent / guardian. It is possible that your players may already have existing JustGo profiles, if so they can be reactivated, and should be reused. They may also have existing profiles linked to contact teams / club. If so, you or their parent / guardian can contact registrations@britishamericanfootball.org to have their flag team added too.
Coaches can register under the category of flag coach, and will be linked to their team roster. If they are already registered as a coach on PlayWaze, please contact registrations@britishamericanfootball.org and they can activate them as a coach on JustGo for no additional charge (and vice-versa).
Other members of staff such as team mangers and welfare officers can register as non-coaching staff members and will be linked to their team roster.
The age ranges for the BAFA Youth Flag league are:
U14 – minimum age 11, under 14 on 31 August of year preceding play
U17 – minimum age 14, under 17 on 31 August of year preceding play
