BAFA is supporting a research project which is testing a cutting edge new device aimed to boost recovery and performance of athletes.

The AiKNIT is the brainchild of a London based  start-up based which  fuses digital material practices, state-of-the-art technology to offer a fresh approach to healing musculoskeletal disorders and sports injuries.

BAFA Head of Medical, Beverley Analuwa said: “Being involved in this research can help AiKNIT tailor solutions to meet the needs of athletes to enhance their recovery and performance. Gaining feedback from therapists can provide more of an understanding on the types of hand related injuries we come across within American Football. Input from athletes can ensure the research is specific to sport related hand injuries as well as providing feedback on how the wearable devices can assist with the recovery of musculoskeletal disorders potentially caused by hand-related sports injuries.”

AiKNIT is currently looking for athletes and physiotherapists interested in sharing their experiences with sports related injuries and providing feedback from testing the new wearable device. Anyone interested in taking part  can sign-up here
