Chad Ehlertsen has expressed his excitement at the journey ahead as he embarks on his first day as Chief Executive of British American Football.
“It’s day one on the job for me and I’m delighted to be in post at such an exciting and transitional time for our sport. Having experienced first-hand how rigorous the selection process was, it was clear to me from the very start how invested the Britball community is in its stewardship and future direction. I am honoured to have been identified as the person to lead sport forward and for the faith you invested in me,” said Chad.
Ehlertsen brings a depth of sport industry leadership to bear – not least in the areas of strategic planning, digital strategy, stakeholder management, finance and commercial management. These attributes will be crucial as BAFA moves towards long-term funding goals and explore avenues for sponsorship and commercial partnerships to capitalise the opportunities presented by Flag Football’s Olympic participation in four years’ time.
“Implementing the necessary steps to ensure sustained growth across everything we do will be my key responsibility – this, of course, is for the medium and long term. In the short term I will build on the foundations and vision we have in place to translate these aspirations into actions.
“Working with the Chair, Nichole McCulloch and the Board alongside BAFA’s deeply committed team of volunteers and professionals will be invaluable in accomplishing this. But equally, spending time with the Britball community in the weeks ahead to draw on your wealth of experience will be crucial,” he added.
