In little over two months the Great Britain Lions Men’s Tackle programme will take the field against the German National Team, in a contest that head coach Jason Scott has labelled “one of the biggest games in British American Football history”.
The Senior Men’s program has launched a
KickStarter campaign to invite all supporters to join the “PRIDE” of Lions, helping contribute to the costs of running a home-game, and assisting athletes with the cost of competing. The programme isn’t just looking for donations – instead looking to reward those people who support the National Team with exclusive merchandise, gifts, and opportunities to get intimate access to the Lions.
The money donated will be put towards promoting the game, accentuating the fan experience and giving financial backing to the players.
Head Coach Jason Scott said “We’re really proud of the product we’re building, and we want to make sure that as many fans come along to watch the game as possible – for us to be able to do that, we need to promote it to everyone – not just the Britball community.
“You’re not going to get a bigger game of American Football in the UK this year – outside the NFL International Series – this will be a game for the ages, and we want to share it with as many people as we can”
“Any money not spent on promoting the game and adding to the spectator experience will be put back into the team, giving our athletes much needed financial support to compete!”
