Great Britain Under 19 Contact team are set to face Irish Wolfhounds, the Irish National Junior American Football on August 23rd under the floodlights at Energia Park, Dublin.
Scott Rowe, the Head Coach of the GB Lions U19 Programme said: “We are incredibly excited to be participating in this spectacular weekend of football in Dublin this August. We are absolutely thrilled to have been given the opportunity to compete against our close neighbours across the Irish Sea, the Junior Wolfhounds. We expect a very competitive and hard-fought encounter in, what we hope, will develop into a true rivalry.”
The squad have a series of camps planned for the next two months with coaching staff are braced for some tough decisions to trimming numbers to form the travelling team for Ireland.
“We have a fantastically talented and hard-working group of young men who are all eager to impress on such a high-profile stage,” added Rowe.
“I am truly honoured to be the Head Coach of this programme and such a remarkable, committed bunch of players and coaches who sacrifice so much of their time and effort. We can’t wait to get out on the field on August 23.”
