We are deeply saddened by news of the passing of BAFRA official Chris Jarvis. Chris also had close ties with BAFA, serving as a disciplinary panel member for a number of years.

The Yorkshire Rams, with whom Chris had a close association will be holding a minute’s silence ahead of their game with the British Army at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds on Sunday (kick-off 2.30pm).

Chris, a popular figure within the game began his refereeing career in the mid 1980s shortly after BAFRA was formed. He served on the BAFRA Board as Director of Youth for two years at the beginning of the 1990s.

He also was very proactive in the training and mentorship of a new Officials. His on-field performances led to him being selected for six bowl games between his first in 1987 and his last in 2013.

Our sincere condolences to go the Chris’s wife, Janis, his family, and friends at this sad time.
