The British American Football Association (BAFA) is delighted to announce the next steps in building the future of the GB Men’s Contact programme. Following the recent announcement of the coaching staff, focus has now shifted to finding the players that will look to elevate the National Programme to the top of the European game.

Head Coach, Jason Scott said:

“We are in the business of formulating the best team possible, and we are looking for players who are not only excellent athletes, but also fantastic teammates, leaders and players who are relentless in becoming the best version of themselves.

“The aim is to create a 100-man practice squad who will get together on a regular basis to develop chemistry – on and off the field – and grow as a team. It’s important that we have a substantial talent pool who understand what we are trying to do as a National Programme staff – we certainly don’t want to be drafting players in at the 11th hour with little or no knowledge of our playbook and philosophy.

“We will be inviting everyone from within the Britball community to register interest in playing for the National Programme, from there we will select around 100 players to an in-person work-out for the team which is scheduled to be held in Nottingham on 23rd October. Those successful trialists will join our existing squad, the bulk of which will make the vast majority of the Great Britain squad moving into the 2022 slate of games.”

To be eligible you must be 18 years old or over and be a British Passport holder.
