The British American Football Association (BAFA) is pleased to announce the full coaching staff for the Great Britain Men’s Contact team.
In preparation for the Great Britain Men’s Contact team returning to on-field activity in the Autumn, a full list of coaching staff has now been announced.
Jason Scott, Great Britain Men’s Contact Head Coach, said:
“I’m very proud to share the coaching line up for the team. I believe we’ve been able to secure the talents of some of the best coaches in the country and I’m excited to work alongside them. Every one of them brings the wealth of experience, skill and knowledge that we need to grow and develop the game further.
“When selecting our positional and quality control coaches, I wanted to find young, passionate coaches who’ve played at the highest level themselves. I’ve got people who have a significant number of international caps and experience between them. They know what it feels like to represent their country and so have a real insight into what we need to do to push forward and make GB one of the best teams in Europe.
“In addition to the named staff, I’m also looking to bring in five coaching assistants to join us for the upcoming series of games leading to the European Championships. This is a tremendous opportunity to experience and learn from what we do first-hand and is part of a wider goal to start developing coaching talent to National Programme level.”
Mike Callan, BAFA Head of National Programmes, said:
“Like the rest of our sport, it’s been a difficult time for all our National Programme teams. It’s been hard to undertake or even plan any activity until recently. But with restrictions easing across the UK and plans for the Great Britain Men’s Contact team now focused on training camps for the Autumn ahead of potential international fixtures, now’s a great time to finally share the coaching line up.
“Building a high-performing team is challenging at the best of times, and more due to the impact of the pandemic. However, Jason has put together a staff that is more than capable and will bring energy, passion and experience to our Great Britain men’s team. Exciting times are ahead!”
