For many British football players during lockdown, keeping in shape has involved impromptu living room workouts and going for plenty of runs.
However, CFL prospect David Izinyon has taken steps to ensure he will be in top shape for the upcoming CFL draft. His status as a professional has allowed him to partner with the local National Badminton Centre Gym in line with government Elite Sport Return to Training guidance.
The staff at NBC under General Manager Andy Royles worked with BAFA to create a safe environment for David to train for the upcoming CFL draft this spring.
“I’d been fortunate enough to be able to train there under Maloney Performance during the combine prep in 2019” – David Izinyon
David says his training currently consists of six days per week, with three double days. This is broken into 3x strength training, 2x speed training, 2x positional/football training and 1 hill training.
“With the combine about 2/3 weeks away, the focus of my training is about peaking at the right time and being as explosive as possible.” – David Izinyon
All of us at BAFA wish David the best in his draft preparation, and the Britball community will be watching all of the British prospects as they make the leap to professional football in Canada.
