The League today wrote to Athletic Unions and teams to inform them of an extension to the season.

Dear Athletic Unions and Teams,
I write to confirm that the BUAFL season will be extended as per the details in the prior email below.
First and foremost it is important to thank our venue providers at the John Charles Stadium who have been remarkably accommodating over the past week as we have sought to establish alternative dates based on Easter vacations, facility availability etc.
Secondly, thank you for the positive responses we have received thus far to the original proposal. We understand that there are challenges with having to make such a shift, be it for teams in our League, the wider footballing community, or in regard to other activities which were being planned. However, after considerable review the 21st of April was the most appropriate date and the consequences of not extending the season were potentially more damaging than doing so.
Even with the extra week in the schedule there still remain challenges. There are some teams which require multiple games to be caught up on and will probably still require games either in midweek or (should they not qualify) during the playoffs. The League will work to ensure games are scheduled but will retain full control of sanctioning fixtures.
Please note, there may be a review of scheduling on February 26th so, where possible, we can retain as much opportunity for post season qualification to be decided on the field as opposed to awarded fixtures off it.
We will seek to provide notice to teams on rescheduled fixtures within the next 24 hours.
