Anyone who takes part in sport knows the value of a good coach. How often do we listen to an athlete, swimmer or player being interviewed on TV, just after they have won an Olympic Gold medal or major championship, say "I owe it all to my coach"?
The 'Coach, you're the best!' competition is an opportunity for you to say thank you to that special person who has made you better at your sport, helped you to win a medal or just makes it fun.
Nominate your coach or instructor and encourage your friends and team mates to vote and they could win £1,000 worth of sports equipment*. The winner will be the coach or instructor with the most votes and so don't forget to tell your friends, colleagues and fellow team members.
Russ Hewitt, President of the Coaches' Association, welcomed the announcement of the nominations process. 'Anyone who came to the Coaches' Convention will recall that many of the speeches which accompanied presentations and the awards ceremony centred around the positive influence a coach can have.'
Hewitt continued 'There are numerous examples of great coaching, great friendship and great guidance delivered by football coaches each week in Britain and I would urge people to spend five minutes to nominate a coach who they respect.'
